Autumn Hike in the Southern Kettle Moraine

  • Sunday, October 19, 2014
  • 9:30 AM
  • Kettle Moraine State Forest, Wisconsin Route 59, Palmyra, WI 53156
The gentle rolling hills of the South Kettle Moraine are wonderful for hiking and enjoying nature. On this hike we will explore the Ice Age trail that is north of the Headquarters. The length of the hike will be decided by the group that assembles that morning. It can be any length from 5 to 8 miles.

Meet in the DNR Headquarters/Visitor Center parking lot on Highway 59 between Eagle and Palmyra on Sunday October 19 at 9:30 am

State park stickers are required and can be purchased there if you do not have one. Bring water and snacks. I recommend wearing some blaze orange or bright color. Hunting times and zones have been changing constantly the past few years. Sturdy shoes help to safeguard feet and ankles although this part of the kettle region is not as rocky as the north. See you there. Steve Rothe 262.434.0824 or lectrify@hotmail.com.
