Fox River GSP Canoe Trip

Join the Glacier State Paddlers for a fun day canoeing on the final stretch of the Fox River in Wisconsin before it enters Illinois. Meeting at 10:00 am, the trip will begin at Cty JB about 5 miles southeast of Burlington on Hwy 83. Take the Burlington State Route 83 Bypass south of Burlington and exit on Hwy 83 heading south. Go south about 3.3 miles, and turn left (east) on Cty JB (31st St.). Go a short distance to a small parking lot on the right at the Fox River. We will follow the quiet, meandering Fox River through farmland for 10 miles to Fox River Park near the town of Silver Lake. Please bring a bag lunch, beverage, and gloves to protect your hands.

Call Mike Craig, GSP trip leader and Nordic member, at 414-552-5011 to reserve a spot on the trip and to get trip details (where to meet, etc.). Identify yourself as a Nordic Ski Club member. Canoe rental cost will probably be $6.00 per person. Money should be paid directly to Mike. There is no fee if you have your own canoe or kayak.
