Pike Lake Summer Picnic

  • Saturday, July 23, 2016
  • 9:30 AM
  • Kettle Moraine State Forest-Pike Lake Unit, Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, Slinger, WI
It's time for the Nordic summer picnic, this year at Kettle Moraine State Forest-Pike Lake's south shelter. Enjoy biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, or just visiting with friends. Depart at 9:30 am for a beautiful, though challenging, 25 mile bike ride through the Holy Hill area.

Our famous potluck picnic will begin at 1 pm. Charcoal, napkins, paper plates, utensils, water, and basic condiments will be provided.

Bring your own beverage, meat to grill, and a dish to pass. In addition to your swimsuit, hiking boots, bike and helmet, kayak or canoe, you may want to bring sunscreen, bug repellent if you want to hike, a lawn chair, and outdoor games to share. A state park admission sticker is needed for your vehicle. Call Nancy Zoltowski at (414) 254-0523 with any questions.

Directions: Take Highway 45 north from Milwaukee to Highway 41 north and exit at Highway 60. Go west about 3.5 miles and turn left/south on Kettle Moraine Drive just west of Slinger. Go one mile south to the beach parking lot on the right. Look for the Nordics at the south shelter, which is to the left side after you enter the parking lot.
