Get your skiing skills honed for upcoming ski trips with lessons offered by club instructors at 10:00 am at Homestead Hollow area of the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Lapham Peak Unit. If there is a lack of snow, we will ski on the snowmaking loop at Evergreen Shelter area. If no snow, we will hike the trails beginning at Homestead Hollow. Please contact Carol Doebler at email@example.com if you wish to take free ski lessons at 10:00 am. Non-members are encouraged to attend the free lessons, so spread the word.
We’ll have a noon picnic for club members at Trecker Lodge by the Homestead Hollow parking lot along with the club’s monthly meeting. The club will supply the noontime picnic lunch – IF you make reservations by Tuesday, January 9. You will need a 2018 State Park vehicle sticker (annual $28; daily $8) and a State Trail Pass (annual $25; daily $5) per person. These can be purchased at the Lapham Peak entrance station. Lines can be long at the entrance station so come early. Lapham Peak is one mile south of I-94 on County Highway C at the Delafield exit. If there is snow, Wheel & Sprocket provides ski rentals on Saturdays from 9 am to 9 pm in the Peak Nordic/ Wheel & Sprocket white shed on the road to the Evergreen Grove parking area. Call the Delafield store at 262-646-6300 for prices. The store opens at 10 am on Saturday.
