Plan to join us for the annual Labor Day camping trip at Governor Dodge State Park. This 5,350 acre park near Dodgeville (on Highway 23, about 50 miles west of Madison) has so much to offer with almost 40 miles of hiking trails, two lakes for swimming and kayaking, boat/canoe rental, mountain biking, and easy access to the Military Ridge State Trail for biking. The hills and valleys of the driftless area in Southwestern Wisconsin are very scenic for road biking. Spring Green and Mineral Point are nearby tourism options. Plan to camp for all three nights or just one or two. Vehicles must have an annual WI state park sticker or daily pass.
We’ll be in site C of the Hickory Ridge group campsite with a short walk to shower facilities near group site B. Enjoy nightly campfires and the traditional Saturday night potluck at 6 p.m. Trip cost is only $14 per person (non-members $15.50). Please make checks payable to NSCM and mail to Mary Mueller, 4862 N. Shoreland Ave., Milwaukee, WI, 53217. Also send your email address for the trip letter in late August along with name and phone number of an emergency contact not on the trip.
Plan to join us for end of summer fun in one of Wisconsin’s most popular state parks. Nordics are also welcome to just come and play for the day or come to the potluck with a dish to pass and your own tableware. Please let us know you are planning to attend.
Contact Mary Mueller at 414-477-5710 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Check out http://dnr.wi.gov for park information.
