MONTHLY MEETING

Do you enjoy the beauty and splendor of the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Southern Unit? Many of our hikes and local ski outings are held in this wonderful forest. We will have the opportunity to learn more about this priceless jewel located southwest of Milwaukee, when Paul Sandgren, Forest superintendent of the southern Kettle Moraine (and fellow cross-country skier and groomer), speaks at our meeting. Some of the topics Paul will discuss are the history of the area, what is involved in maintaining the hiking and skiing trails, how changes are made to the trails and why, what things our club can do to be active stewards of the forest, and information about legislation that might affect the forest. Mark you calendar now to attend this interesting evening, and bring your questions!

To help you promote the club, we have “business cards” listing the Nordic Ski Club hotline and the web site. Extra copies of the newsletter can be emailed from the website or printed and handed to your friends with an invitation to join. Please get extra cards from club President, Katie Bivens, or Membership Chair, Kay Krebs. Give them out liberally, and post them wherever you think there might be interest. Remember: we're a year-round recreation club. Spread the word!
