| Oconomowoc Rier AYH Canoe Trip - Saturday, Aug 2: Enjoy a fun, mid afternoon paddle on the Oconomowoc River by joining this AYH canoe trip. There will be swimming opportunities along the way and a potluck dinner on the beach at Fowler Lake in Oconomowoc. Grills will be provided. Please bring your own meat (or veggieburger) and a side dish or dessert to share. | Lulu Lake AYH Canoe Trip - Sunday, Aug 3: Join AYH for an easy, social canoe trip. This trip will start and end at the Eagle Springs Pub on Eagle Spring Lake , so no car shuttling is needed. The canoe trip will begin at 10 am and will cross Eagle Spring Lake , traverse a marshy channel, and enter Lulu Lake . We will take a lunch break on a nice sandy beach, so please bring along a bag lunch and beverage and wear your swimsuit for a dip in the lake. After practicing rescue and paddling techniques, we will return to our starting point for refreshments at the pub. Directions: Eagle Springs Pub is on County E southeast of Eagle. From I-43, take the Highway 83-Mukwonago exit and follow it north through town a little over 1 mile to County LO. Turn left on LO and go about 5 miles west to County E. Turn left/south and go a short distance to Eagle Springs Pub. |
Milwaukee River AYH Twilight Paddle - Wednesday, August 13: Time for another twilight paddle on the Milwaukee River ! Join other Nordics and AYH members at 6 pm at the Schlitz Office Park near downtown Milwaukee . We'll paddle down the Milwaukee River to the Milwaukee Ale House. Call Bill Ross, AYH trip leader and Nordic member, at (414) 332-1889 to reserve a spot and to get other trip details. Identify yourself as a Nordic Ski Club member. There may be an optional dinner in downtown Milwaukee before returning, so please bring a light for your canoe. Canoe rental cost is $4 per person, or $1 activity fee if you have your own canoe. Bark River AYH Canoe Trip - Saturday, August 23: Come with AYH for a fun day canoeing on the Bark River from Princess Point south of Hebron to Fort Atkinson . This will be a 13-mile trip, with an option for a shorter 6-mile paddle on a slow moving, wide river. There are no homes and very few roads along the Bark River before it joins with the Rock River in Fort Atkinson near the end of the trip. The trip begins at 9:30 am. Please bring a bag lunch, beverage, and gloves to protect your hands.
