Cross-country Ski, Bike, Hike and More!
The Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee is a year-round recreation and social club.
Members arrange cross-country ski and snowshoe trips to northern Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and throughout the southeastern Wisconsin area. When the snow disappears, members enjoy • biking • camping • hiking • canoeing/ kayaking. Social events include • winter and summer picnics • monthly meetings • dining • board games • hiking and more. Cross-country ski lessons - both classic and skate - are offered during most outings.
CELEBRATING 55 YEARS About The NordicsThe Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee was founded in 1971 to promote cross-country skiing in Wisconsin. Club founders helped design many ski trails in the Kettle Moraine State Forest including the McMiller and Nordic Trails.The Nordics have welcomed members of all ages. Members came from southeast Wisconsin, Madison and Chicago areas. Check the Upcoming Events schedule for meeting dates, locations and topics. |

Lapham Peak State Forest: 17.5 miles including 2.5 miles of lighted trail. Groomed for skate/freestyle and classical/diagonal; beginner, intermediate and expert skier. Mix of gentle and hilly terrain with steep climbs and descents. Nordic Trail: Named for the Nordic Ski Club of Milwaukee. 18.2 miles of trails; 7 ski loops. Groomed for skate/free style and classical/diagonal; beginner, intermediate and expert skier. Gentle, rolling and steep terrain. Brown Deer Park: 4.5 miles of trails. Groomed for skate/freestyle and classical/diagonal; beginner and intermediate skier. Flat, gentle terrain; wooded and open. |
Our club has been involved with the Wisconsin Nordic Network and are a sponsor of the Kortelopet Scholarship program. We voiced our concerns to the State about conservation of ski/hiking trails in State forests and we help maintain trails. |
